If modern technology is not adopted in line with the trend and time, then the death knell of such manufacturers and factories is sure to ring. A similar scenario has been seen in the world's second largest ceramic cluster of Morbi. In the last one and a half decades, i.e. 15 years, about 390 ceramic units of Morbi have been locked. All these factories that have been closed in Morbi were using old technology. The doors of wall tiles, cera decor, floor tiles, vitrified and sanitary ware factories that could not keep pace with the new era have been closed forever.
There was a time when small size glazed tiles were used in every house's bathroom and kitchen, but now the trend of installing large tiles in kitchens and baths has started, which has put an end to the factories that made small size tiles. In 15 years, more than 188 such factories have been permanently closed. Something similar happened with Serra Decor units. With the advent of modern technology to create designs in tiles, third firing units were started, in which after the tiles were made, the designs were made and fired in a kiln, and the latest Serra Decor units used to make such modern tiles. However, with the passage of time, digital machines came in place of third firing, and a revolution took place in tile manufacturing, and instead of third firing, tiles with diverse designs were directly produced, and in the last one and a half decades, 86 small and large units of Serra Decor were closed.
Nilesh Patel, a leading tiles manufacturer in Morbi, says that in all sectors, one has to keep pace with modernity. If you cannot trade with modernity and modern trends, then you cannot survive in the market. Most of the units in Morbi are not able to keep pace with modern technology and such products are now out of date, which is why a large number of industries have closed down.
Odisha goes pan-European in sanitary ware, trend of wall and one piece
In today's modern era, just like tiles, sanitary ware products have also changed. Earlier, Orissa pans and European toilets were manufactured, but to survive in the global market, Morbi-Than manufacturers have now started manufacturing wall and one-piece products. However, compared to ceramic tile factories, the cost of upgrading sanitary ware is lower, so the old players have easily adopted new technology and produced according to the trend, so there has been an increase in the number of sanitary ware manufacturers in the last one and a half decades instead of a decrease.
